Petie 13951-c's Story...
Sweetie Petie was turned out by his owner and brought to us by a neighbor who was concerned for the safety of this declawed kitty. The owner moved to a new house and got a dog, and the dog was in the habit of chasing the two resident cats. Needless to say that Petie was not thrilled with these disruptions. Petie seems quite relaxed here, solicits petting and attention, rubs, head butts and purrs to get his needs across. He calm and curious, and loves to be petted. He's not too keen on being restrained - as in having a collar put on - but returns swiftly to his former relaxed mode. How about a friendly, handsome feline to start off the new year with a purr?

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Petie 13951-c, a Ithaca Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Ithaca, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Ithaca.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Ithaca already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Ithaca breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Ithaca paves the way for another one to be saved.
