Iman's Story...
Long-limbed and poised, this elegant tuxedo girl has it all- independence, looks and panache, with just a dash of sass! Iman is quick to purr and enjoy a kind gesture or chin rub, but is also content to curl up in her favorite spot for a light nap to rest her pretty eyes. She is very fastidious about her litter-box being just so, and takes her food quite seriously too. Iman likes other friendly cats and loves to give them nose kisses if they'll let her. She also in particular loves to give humans nose kisses as she purrs and chirps happily. Just recovering from mastectomy surgery she's been quite the trooper. Little Iman was deserted for some time before her mammary tumor burst and prompted a passerby to take her to the shelter. She was lucky- it was not cancer. Now, her thin frame is on its way to filling out, but she will always be svelte and sleek! She was born around 1/5/08.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Iman, a New York Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in New York, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in New York.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in New York already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a New York breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in New York paves the way for another one to be saved.
