Jewel and her brother Jake were picked up as strays and brought to a high kill Animal Control in GA with no hope for a bright future... until we decided to give them a chance at life. Jewel is an amazing little puppy, she loves sitting on her humans lap and playing with her foster sisters. She is a very gentle girl that could snuggle all day. She is amazing with both another puppy larger than her and a 6lb dog with 3 legs. She is an amazing dog looking for an amazing home.

Welcome Friends! The Animal Center ("The Center") is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping animals. Our goal is to help end companion animal homelessness and prevent cruelty to animals in Newtown and the broader Connecticut community by providing services that foster the bond between humans and animals.We also pull many dogs from high kill shelters in Georgia. We are a foster only organization so in order to visit any dog, an appointment must be made.
The Animal Center runs its rescue programs entirely through a volunteer foster network. We do not have a shelter. This means we don't have a central location where all our adoptable animals are kept, nor do we have viewing "hours" because our adoptable animals are in the safety and comfort of private homes, not in a shelter facility.
To adopt, please fill out our adoption form on the website for the animal you're interested in. When we receive your form, our volunteers will contact you to set up a day and time that works for you to meet the cat or dog you're interested in.
Adoption Includes spay/neuter, vaccinations, heartworm test, microchipping and deworming. Adoption fee varies dog to dog staring around $250 for an adult dog and $350 for a puppy.
