Britta's Info...
| Breed: | German Shepherd Dog/Collie Mix | Color: | Tan/Yellow/Fawn - With White | Age: | Young |
| Size: | Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg) | Sex: | Female |
Britta was surrendered by her owner to a high kill shelter.
The reason for her surrender is not known, but it could not be for her temperament! She is a happy, friendly, playful, affectionate girl!
Britta was rescued on the very day that she was to be put down. Many people came together to save her, even raising money for boarding while a foster made room for her. Now she is with her foster and is working on learning to obey basic commands and to walk politely on a leash.
Britta is about a year and a half old. She loves to play with toys. She loves tugging games and playing ball. She is highly trainable because of her intelligence and her desire to please people.
Britta is 43 pounds and is unlikely to get any bigger. If you are looking for a fantastic family dog that can keep up with an active lifestyle, you need to meet Britta!
Rescue Group Info...
Saving The Animals Together (S.T.A.T.) is a group of animal lovers dedicated to networking and rescuing dogs and cats from our local high kill shelter. We invite you to help us save the lives of these pets on death row.
We are a foster based rescue and as such, we have no public facilities. When you are ready to meet one of our adoptable pets our volunteer staff will work with you to schedule a meet and greet in a public place that is convenient to your family as well as our staff.
Our $200 adoption fee includes vetting, including spay/neuter, all age appropriate vaccinations, deworming, heartworm/lyme/ehrlichiosis test for all dogs (and treatment for any positive results) and a microchip. (Adopter is responsible to register the chip and pay any registration fees). All of our adoptable pets are current on heartworm preventative and flea/tick preventative. You will find our preliminary application on our website http://www.savingtheanimalstogether.org/#!adoptable-dogs-and-cats/c1yi2
For out-of-state adoptions there is an additional non-refundable $150 transport fee.
Upon completion of this application, a volunteer staff member will contact you for a telephone interview. If you are still interested in adopting a new family member from us, we will ask to check your references and visit you in your home to meet your family members (human, canine and feline!).
We look forward to helping you welcome the perfect new family member to your home!
