Greyson's Story...
Hi there, my name is Greyson. I am a purebred Blue Merle Sheltie girl
that just celebrated my 8th birthday in December. I know, you're
thinkin', "wow, she looks like a puppy!" But it's true, I'm really
eight. Before coming into rescue, I spent my 8 yrs. in a breeding
facility. I'm a little hesitant of humans but I'm starting to realize
that they can be really fun to live with. Unfortunately I am not going to
be ready to find my forever home for a while. The nice sheltie rescue
folks discovered that I am heart worm positive so I get to live with my
foster mom for quite a long time until I complete my treatments and get
spayed...yippee! I am a quiet gal and I get along really good with the other
shelties. But I'm telling you, there is a collie puppy here that just
about drives me bonkers. I wouldn't mind if my forever home has another
doggie but PLEASE don't let it be a puppy....my puppy days are over! I
prefer a quieter home with lots of petting, love pats and hugs.
I'm quite a bit over weight from what I hear but my foster mom is going to
work on that. I'm learning to walk on a leash, eat out of a bowl and
just for the record....I have NEVER had an accident in the house yet! My
foster mom is really happy about that too...I can tell she is. If you
think you could love me forever, send us an email, I would love to meet
you.

P.S. I LOVE to sit on laps too!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Greyson, a Mission Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog for sale in Mission, or seeking a Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog dog from a breeder in Mission.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Mission already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Mission breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog breeders who help with Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Mission paves the way for another one to be saved.
