Rosey's Story...
This gorgeous lady is Rosey, a 3 year old collie/retriever mix that came to us from Tennessee in search of a great place to call home. Rosey made a good friend down south, Hugh, and shares her run with him and they just adore each other. Hugh is a bit older and slower, and Rosey is extremely gentle with him. This lovely lady is just so kind, and has such a warm personality. She is shy upon meeting new people but once she gets to know you, she will lean against you, look up at you, and hope that you give her lots of love and attention. Rosey is quiet and well-behaved, and walks very well on a leash. In our exercise run, she is content to take her time to check things out, rather than running and playing. She will chase the occasional ball, but would prefer to cozy up next to you, in a nice warm spot in the sun. Rosey was in a foster home down south, and they say that she is extremely relaxed and outgoing in a home, but a bit nervous in a shelter. Rosey would love a nice, quiet home with an easy going family like her. Rosey gets along great with other dogs and would do well in a home with no small children under the age of 10. This beautiful girl is so deserving of a great home...please make her dreams come true. 1/12/13 File#22211

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Rosey, a Forked River Collie/Retriever (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Collie/Retriever (Unknown Type) for sale in Forked River, or seeking a Collie/Retriever (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Forked River.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Forked River already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Forked River breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Collie/Retriever (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Collie/Retriever (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Forked River paves the way for another one to be saved.
