Ryder's Story...
This handsome young man is Ryder, a German spitz mix that is about 4 to 5 years old. Ryder comes with a sad story....his owners lost his home to foreclosure, but when they vacated the premises, they did not find it important enough to take Ryder with them. Ryder was found tied outside at the home in freezing temperatures, with no food, water or shelter. We don't know how long he was left there, but any amount of time in the cold winter is too long. Ryder was quite thin and shaken up upon arrival. He is very happy to be receiving lots of good meals, a warm bed, and the medical care that he needed, and Ryder is now on the road to recovery. This adorable little ball of fluff is such a sweetheart when he gets to know you. It does take Ryder some time to trust people when he meets them, which is totally understandable. When he does warm up to you, he will stand on his hind legs to get your attention, and then just want you to hold him and keep him close. Ryder is very well behaved and walks perfectly on a leash. He doesn't seem to mind other dogs, but would prefer a home with no small children under the age of 12. Ryder is so deserving of a fresh start in life....please open your heart and home to this young man and help him start over. 1/4/13 File#22191

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ryder, a Forked River Spitz (Unknown Type, Medium) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Spitz (Unknown Type, Medium) for sale in Forked River, or seeking a Spitz (Unknown Type, Medium) dog from a breeder in Forked River.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Forked River already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Forked River breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Spitz (Unknown Type, Medium) breeders who help with Spitz (Unknown Type, Medium) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Forked River paves the way for another one to be saved.
