Sheldon's Story...
Hi! my name is Shelodn and I am looking for a loving furever home. I was rescued from a very unsafe beach for dogs in Puerto Rico. I am about a year and a half old, about 12 lbs, housetrained, very sweet and loving and good with other dogs. I am being fostered in Brooklyn and my foster family really loves me. I have lots of fun playing with them and their dog but I love to snuggle up with them on the couch or bed. If you would like to meet me please email

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sheldon, a Madison Chesapeake Bay Retriever/Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chesapeake Bay Retriever/Dachshund for sale in Madison, or seeking a Chesapeake Bay Retriever/Dachshund dog from a breeder in Madison.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Madison already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Madison breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chesapeake Bay Retriever/Dachshund breeders who help with Chesapeake Bay Retriever/Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Madison paves the way for another one to be saved.
