Sophia's Story...
UPDATED BIO 01/28/2013: SOPHIA is 13 years old and weighs a skinny 5 lbs 10 oz; she is being fostered in The Villages, FL. Sophia has overcome her initial shyness in her foster home and is sooooo sweet and loves to cuddle. She is getting along fine with Frankie, the little yorkie in the home, so she gets along well with other dogs. Sophia's eye infection has cleared up and she saw the vet today who said she is a healthy little senior girl ~ yippee! Couldn't you use a little more love in your life? If so, Sophia could be your sweetheart! Please don't turn aay from Sophia because of her age - she still has a whole lotta love to give...........

INITIAL BIO 1/20/13: My name is Sophia. I am 12 years old and am being fostered in The Villages, FL. I weigh a skinny 8 lbs. Yesterday, my owner had to rehome me with United Yorkie Rescue because he couldn't take care of me anymore. When I was younger, I used to go everywhere with him. I am a good little traveler and liked to hang out with him at work. Since he had less time for me, he thought there might be a family out there who would have the time to love a little old lady like me. I love to snuggle. I love to go for short walks. Did I mention I love to snuggle? Right now, I am being treated for an eye infection. That's why the dogtor shaved my face. I say, "That's okay. Hair grows back!." :) Well, stay tuned as my foster mom gets to know me better. I am looking for a snuggle buddy. Could it be you?

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sophia, a The Villages Yorkie, Yorkshire Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Yorkie, Yorkshire Terrier for sale in The Villages, or seeking a Yorkie, Yorkshire Terrier dog from a breeder in The Villages.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in The Villages already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a The Villages breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Yorkie, Yorkshire Terrier breeders who help with Yorkie, Yorkshire Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in The Villages paves the way for another one to be saved.
