Athena's Story...

Athena is an Akita/mix pup who was born Nov 5 2012 and is a real sweetie. She was found abandoned in a box along with her litter mates when they were about 5 weeks old, so not much is known about their background but they do not seems to have been mistreated in any way as they were all healthy heavy pups.

Athena is very outgoing loves the company of other dogs and cats, and is super affectionate. She is doing well with her house training and consistently using the newspaper to go potty while keeping her bedding clean. Athena is the smallest pup of the litter but will still grow up to be about 60lbs.

All of our animals are spayed or neutered, up to date with age appropriate shots, are micro-chipped and come with a 30 day free health insurance. Please email us for an adoption application. Thank You!

Pixie Animal Rescue is run by volunteers. We do not have a facility, so all of our animals are in foster homes. Please give us time to respond to your email. Thank You!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Athena, a Brighton Akita puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Akita for sale in Brighton, or seeking a Akita puppy from a breeder in Brighton.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Brighton already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Brighton breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Akita breeders who help with Akita rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Brighton paves the way for another one to be saved.
