My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Roxie was released by a breeder, and was very shy and timid at first. She is blossoming in foster care, and her sweet personality is developing well. Roxie loves to play with her fur companions, and zooms around the yard at full speed. She also enjoys cuddling and snuggling, and particularly loves being scratched on her chest. Roxie will need a calm, quiet, adult household, with another small dog to help her learn and adjust. With patience and love, she will make some lucky adopter a great lap dog and companion.

Roxie weighs 6 1/2 lbs and is white in color and 1 year young. She is being fostered by Mary and family in Pittsburgh, PA area. Not all our dogs are totally house trained at the time of adoption. We crate train them or potty pad train and work on potty skills. When your application is approved, you will speak with the foster Mom and can get more information about how far along the foster dog is in potty and social skills. Dogs learn quickly and most are pretty far along or trained by the time of adoption, however you should always expect some adjustment when moving a dog to a new home.

Roxie's adoption fee is $295 it includes a written veterinary exam, Neuter or Spay and dental if needed. In addition a prepaid Microchip registration. PLUS an annual booster shot, rabies shot and tag, heartworm test and passed, fecal and preventative deworming. You also receive a trial limited 30 day pet insurance from a third party. In season our rescues have had flea/tick and heartworm preventatives.

We send you home with a copy of all the vet work, dog training booklet, adoption paperwork, and tips. Our Foster families notes explaining our rescue dogs schedule, habits, socialization skills.

WE DO NOT SHIP OUR DOGS YOU MUST DRIVE TO THE FOSTER HOME TO MEET THE DOG AND BOND TO ADOPT. You must fill out our on line application to schedule a meet and great with the foster dog. We cannot hold more than 2 weeks from notifying you approved to complete the adoption or we require a non refundable deposit to hold the dog a short time longer. We do not require a fenced yard on all of our dogs, it is on a as needed basis. HOWEVER if you don't have a fenced yard we do require you to purchase an exercise pen (>$60 on internet) so that the dog can be safe when outside; SMALL DOGS CAN NOT BE TIED OUT.

Not all our dogs are totally house trained at the time of adoption. We crate train them, potty pad train them and use exercise pens for outside and work on potty skills. Dogs learn quickly and are pretty far along. But expect some accidents at lst until they know the routine at your place.

Our dogs are fostered in private homes in OH and MI and PA. We are not a shelter you will need an approved application and an appointment to meet our rescue dogs.

Please visit our website www.ronsrescuedrascals.org to learn more about our adoption procedures and policies, submit an adoption application, meet our volunteers and benefit from the 8+ years of rescue experience of our all-volunteer, non-profit rescue.
