I am already spayed, housetrained, a special needs pet, up to date with shots, good with kids, good with dogs, and good with cats.
Lil' Bit is playful, affectionate and cute as a button. If we had to guess, we’d say she is a mix of Chihuahua, Whippet and Beagle. She loves people and gets along well with cats and large or small dogs. We don’t know if she has experience with children but her temperament testing indicates that she will be a good match for gentle, respectful kids. As of January 2013, she is 1 ½ - 2 years old and weighs a lean, elegant 20 pounds.
Lil’ Bit has a mild form of myasthenia gravis, an autoimmune disease that causes muscle weakness and fatigue that worsens during activity and improves with rest. When she gets overexcited, her hind legs become paralyzed and collapse under her. An episode lasts just a minute or two and doesn’t faze this happy girl at all – she’s soon ready to run and play as though nothing happened. She is not handicapped and we do not think of her as a “special needs” dog at all. She is housetrained to piddle pads because she can hold her bladder and bowels for only a few hours at a time. She tries very hard not to miss her target but occasionally does, so we recommend a home with easily cleaned floors. She is also crate trained and a good car rider, but her best talent is snuggling.
Lil' Bit will be placed in an inside forever home only. Because her condition limits her ability to take long walks, we prefer a home with a fenced yard so she can run and play at her own pace. A written application, personal and vet references and a home visit are required.
