Pelli and KoKo
12 Year Old Brother and Sister Ruddy Abyssinians
Must be adopted together
Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue is helping facilitate the placement of these cats. We take no responsibility for these cat's health and medical records. It is the responsibility of the owner and adopter to discuss this.
Pelli and KoKo's owner became unable to care for them about 2 years ago due to Alzheimer's and other health issues. They were taken in by the owner's niece who unfortunately cannot keep them as she is moving out of the area. Pelli and KoKo were purchased as kittens from an Australian Abyssinian breeder. The breeder knows what has happened in these cats lives and knows it is not in their best interest to fly back to her in Australia. Their caretaker has all breeding information for the new owners. They were born March 2000.
In Pelli and KoKo's original home, they shared their space with a Maine Coon cat and several dogs, so other animals in their home should be no problem with proper introduction. THEY DO NEED TO BE PLACED TOGETHER. These cats are very friendly, very gentle, playful, communicative, and EXTREMELY affectionate, in other words, everything an Abyssinian should be.
Pelli, the male and larger of the two in the photos, is neutered and weighs approximately 10 pounds. He has a history of crystals in his urine, but his condition is well controlled with prescription Hill's Feline C/D canned food and he urinates normally. Pelli is a lap cat and loves his tummy kisses. He is up-to-date on his FVRCP vaccinations (due 5/14).
The female, KoKo, is spayed and weighs approximately 6 pounds. KoKo loves her toys and sleeps under the covers of caretaker's bed. She is up-to-date on her FVRCP vaccinations (due 5/14).
We know there is one of you reading of Pelli and KoKo's plight and is thinking that you could give them a home. Just look at their faces and ask yourself if you can leave them where they are without giving them the love you are feeling for them at this moment. Can't you imagine these cats sun-bathing in your window (their favorite activity), Pelli sitting in your lap and KoKo sleeping with you? We have seen over and over those of you that are called to give senior cats a loving home for their senior years. Is that you?
If these cats are calling to you, call Karen at 707-301-6425 or by email at k.pahler@comcast.net
Rescue Group Info...
Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue is dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming of purebred and other exceptional cats.
Our mission is to educate pet owners, breeders, and shelters about our breeds, and to place our cats with Forever Families who will give them the proper care and love they deserve. We carefully match cats with their Forever Families by evaluating each cat's personality, temperament, and special needs. Then we determine the best fit for both the cat and the new family. Please note that we do NOT ship cats.
Our adoption fee is $175 unless otherwise noted. This fee allows us to provide excellent vet care for the cats that really need it. The healthy kitties make it possible for the sick ones to be saved.
Our cats are neutered or spayed, vaccinated and FELV/FIV negative. We are not a shelter. All of our cats are fostered in private homes. We ask that anyone wanting to meet one of our cats first fill out our online application. These cats are treated like members of our family, and we want to ensure that you will do the same.
When you adopt from Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue, you are saving TWO lives - the cat you adopt and the cat who gets to take its place in Rescue!
READY TO ADOPT?
First, call the name of the foster mother if you are interested in an individual cat. Once you've chatted, she will ask you to fill out our easy online application. Just "Click to submit"! Next, one of our wonderful volunteers will quickly contact your veterinary and personal references. Then they will give you a call to chat and answer any questions or concerns you may have about the adoption process. Once approved we will help you set up a time to come and meet the kitty or kitties you want. If it's a good match all around you will be asked to sign a contract and pay the adoption fee and you can take the kitty home that very day.
Our adoption fee is $175. That includes the kitty, spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccines, tested for FIV/FELV.
We do not ship pets, however, you are welcome to put in an application and once approved make plans to come out and meet the kitty and fly it back with you.
