Fudge's Story...
Micro mini (7.5 lbs) six year old Fudge was picked up as a stray. Due to an eye infection and missing hair (because of a flea allergy or neglect or bad nutrition or all three) she was not available for adoption from the shelter. The plea went out for a rescue to take this dog, and we happily raised our hand.

Fudge is a very sweet little dog. She is so tiny that at her foster home, she can fit through the slates in the baby gate that is meant to keep the foster dogs out of the office. Even with her cone on (to keep her from pawing her eye) she sneaks through. She then curls up quietly in a corner near her foster mom.

Because Fudge is so tiny, she needs a home with children age 8 and up. She is fine with all of the other doxies but her real focus is people. She loves to cuddle right next to you. She really is a darling little girl.

Fudge is spayed, micro chipped and current on her vaccinations. Fudge just had a complete dental so now we love to receive the kisses she loves to give.

If you are interested in Fudge, please fill out an adoption application at www.scdr.org and email Lindy at linla@comcast.net.

The tax deductible donation for Fudge is $225

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Fudge, a San Jose Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in San Jose, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in San Jose.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in San Jose already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a San Jose breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in San Jose paves the way for another one to be saved.
