Bugs's Story...
This is Bugs. He is a 7 year old, 12 inch, 20 pound beagle. He was obviously well taken care of in his prior life, but for some reason became a stray on the streets of Houston. HBHR recently rescued him from a local shelter.

Bugs is a shy, quiet, lovable and happy dog. Oh, but how all that changes when it is mealtime! He is a beagle after all!

He loves to spend time lying quietly in the backyard sun rather than playing with the other dogs although he will play on occasion. He prefers to lie in your lap for petting and he loves the ladies! He has a quiet bark and will use it when outside now and then. Bugs likes car rides and does really well on a leash. He is house and doggy door trained. He has great manners and does not chew anything he shouldn't.

Fill out an application today to meet this sweet and loving boy. Just look at his face. How could you not want to bring him home with you?

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Bugs, a Houston Beagle dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Beagle for sale in Houston, or seeking a Beagle dog from a breeder in Houston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Houston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Houston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Beagle breeders who help with Beagle rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Houston paves the way for another one to be saved.
