Shelley's Story...
What else could possibly happen to this dog? Shelley (#135) has been shot at least three times, bred too many times, used as a bait dog and been hit by a car. She is two years old and has been abused her entire life, yet she still believes that people can be nice. She ended up in a shelter, she won their hearts by being such a nice girl, so nice in fact that they sent her to our rescue. She never a cross look or a growl while she was examined and her wounds tended to. Everyone who meets Shelley falls in love with her. She is in a wheelchair with the generous help of Pets with Disabilities. Her medical needs have been tended too. Now Shelley needs a home that will give her the love she deserves. About Shelley: Very sweet and loving, adores people of all ages and wants to be around them. She seems ok with bigger dogs, we aren't sure about cats yet. She needs help getting in and out of her wheelchair, it requires some strength. If you are interested in fostering or adopting this love bug, please email with the subject line "Shelley"

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Shelley, a Waldorf American Bulldog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Bulldog for sale in Waldorf, or seeking a American Bulldog dog from a breeder in Waldorf.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Waldorf already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Waldorf breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Bulldog breeders who help with American Bulldog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Waldorf paves the way for another one to be saved.
