Stella's Story...
This beautiful little lady is Stella, a black lab mix that is about a year old and would love a new home to call her own. Stella came to us from Georgia when she came in as a stray. It's hard to imagine this young and innocent little girl being out in the world all by herself. Stella is a bit leery of new things and likes to take her time to sniff everything out before approaching. She makes friends very quickly and once she knows she can trust you, be her best friend forever and she'll try to crawl right up in your lap to cuddle with you! Stella is super affectionate and loves getting attention. She has been known to stop mid-walk, to plop on her back for a belly rub. Stella loves to be off leash in our exercise yard and once she realized it was all okay, she grabbed toys and took off running and having fun. It seems this young lady just wants to enjoy herself like a puppy, and maybe was never able to. Stella doesn't seem to mind other dogs and would prefer a quieter home with no small children under the age of 10. Please consider opening your heart and home to this deserving young lady! 1/20/13 File#22235

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Stella, a Forked River Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Forked River, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Forked River.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Forked River already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Forked River breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Forked River paves the way for another one to be saved.
