My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Samson is a HUGE hit at RESCUE! Anyone who adopts this special boy is going to be very lucky! Here are a couple of his glowing comments from his fan club:

“Samson is bold, feisty and fun-loving. He is a gentle boy who loves to spend time walking, running and playing outside. Today we worked on not jumping and how to sit (for a treat, of course). Samson is very smart and learned very quickly that when he when he sat, he would get a yummy snack. He is a crackerjack, as my great-grandma used to say. Samson is also very curious and amiable: he loves to say hello to people, dogs and just about any bush or tree that we pass. He is such a happy boy - his tail never stopped wagging the entire walk. He is a wonderful pup and would be a super buddy for an energetic person.”

“Awesome!!! That is the best word I can use to describe Samson. Yes he is big and strong and needs a human that will keep him in line but what a great boy he is. Always wanting to please his human and ready to learn. For our outing I brought Samson back to my house to have a play date with our youngest, Piper, a 3 year old lab/golden mix. What a great time he had. Such a gentleman and very good playing with Piper, taking turns chasing each other and holding wrestling matches. He is still learning how to walk properly and an easy walk harness is very helpful with this big boy. He loves treats, so very it is easier to work on commands. He knows sit but still takes a couple of times before he will perform. We also started working on down and he was starting to catch on. He is also one of the best passengers I have had, sitting in the back seat like a human watching the world go by. All in all, we had a very enjoyable outing and can't wait for our next time together.”
So as you can see our outgoing, active, handsome, affectionate guy is a super great dog. Now he just needs a family of his own to make him complete. He is looking for an active home, with daily morning walks or better yet jogs. Weekend hikes would be a big bonus! While he could live without another dog it would be ideal for him to have another young, active dog for him to play and romp with so he can burn off some energy. As mentioned Samson will need help with his leash manners and not jumping on folks to greet them. But we are confident the Samson will make an excellent student in any class and be the Star Student! So if you have what our special boy is looking for, fill out an application for him today - www.azrescue.org. He is eager to started on the next part of his new life!

Samson weighed 54.3 pounds when we saved him from the kill list.
