Ollie was picked up after he had been hit by a car at a bus stop near a city park. He had many minor cuts and bruises but nothing serious. He was very skinny and looked like he had been running the streets for awhile. Was the vet ok'd him to come to the shelter he really shined. Ollie is a good boy that gets very attached to someone that he chooses. He probably needs home without small children but does well with other dogs. Ollie just loves giving hugs and kisses, loves his toys, loves to run and would love to just hang out with you. He would make the best friend you ever had and best snuggler you ever met. Come visit Ollie and you will fall in love.

About Heart of Texas SPCA

About Our Shelter...

Our History:
Our shelter was established in May of 2000 as a No-kill, 501 (c) (3) non-profit shelter. At that time animals were fostered and adopted out by word of mouth. In November 2001 adoptions were done out of a donated space at a local veterinary clinic, staffed completely by volunteers. We outgrew that space quickly and moved into our own location in 2002. We are now located on IH-10 West in Fair Oaks Ranch, near Boerne, housing only dogs. We have made great improvements threw the years and hope to increase the number of animals rescued, increase adoptions, fundraising events, and reach more of the community. We provide a temporary shelter, rehabilitation and care to homeless and unwanted dogs until responsible, loving homes can be found. As a no-kill shelter, we want to help reduce the number of animals euthanized each year by educating the public on the importance of proper pet care, animal behavior and overpopulation prevention.

Some of our dogs are in foster homes so a visit will have to be arranged.

Our Adoption Process...

Adoption application, brief interview, meet and greet, and adoption fee are required. Some of our dogs do require a home visit.
