About Our Shelter...
Blount County, TN had never had a shelter and utilized a tiny municipal pound that euthanized intakes almost as soon as they came in. The people of Blount County rose up and demanded a real shelter for the County. The new shelter was designed and then seeded with $350,000 from the County. An additional $650,000 was raised from private donations. The partially completed shelter went operational in Nov of 2009. It is scheduled to be completed by mid 2011.
