Shelton's Story...
Shelton arrived here with his brother Cooley from South Carolina, his brother got adopted and Shelton is still awaiting his forever home. This guy is a very high energy, fun dog who gets along with other dogs great. His legs may be short but he ca jump like a gazelle. He would be great for a family with children, they would play for hours. He was found running the streets in Greenville and taken to the local shelter where he was close to being PTS. He had a very long trip on the transfer van to get here, but did great. Shelton is roughly 2 years old, a neutered male, current on vaccinations and micro chipped, he is also on monthly heart worm preventative. If you are interested in Shelton call 931-698-0303 or email woofwoof324@gmail.com to make an appointment to meet him in person. An adoption fee of $150 is required which goes toward saving another dog in need.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Shelton, a Columbia Jack Russell Terrier/Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Jack Russell Terrier/Dachshund for sale in Columbia, or seeking a Jack Russell Terrier/Dachshund dog from a breeder in Columbia.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Columbia already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Columbia breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Jack Russell Terrier/Dachshund breeders who help with Jack Russell Terrier/Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Columbia paves the way for another one to be saved.
