Bentley's Story...
Hubba, Hubba, Hubba – look at this beautiful boy. Bentley is a beautiful light blond lab mix who ended up in a rural shelter because his owner could no longer care for him. We are hearing that a lot lately and that is such a heartbreaker. Bentley is the sweetest, most lovable 1 ½ year old boy and weighs in at about 85 lbs. He is a sweet and gentle boy who gets along great with other dogs, is eager to play and isn’t even phased by the kitties. Bentley loves to go for walks and he knows basic commands such as sit and stay and is good at recall. He is so eager to please and loves his humans. His energy level is medium. Comments from Bentley’s foster mom: ‘Bentley is gentle and calm and loves attention. He is eager to please and I suspect will be easy to train for additional desired behaviors. Bentley loves to roll over on his back for tummy rubs and will approach you and put his head in your lap for some loving.’ Bentley is also house trained and crate trained. He would make a wonderful addition to any family and be the most devoted companion.
Bentley is neutered, up to date on vaccinations including rabies, heartworm negative and micro-chipped. He has been kept on flea/tick preventative and heartworm preventative. If you would be interested in learning more about Bentley and how he would fit into your family, please indicate him on the online application.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Bentley, a Lewisville Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Lewisville, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Lewisville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Lewisville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Lewisville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Lewisville paves the way for another one to be saved.
