This adorable little guy is Miller, a 1 1/2 year old lab/hound mix that came to us from Georgia looking for a fresh start in life. Miller came in as a stray down in GA, and he would love a safe and secure home to spend the rest of his life in. This little guy is a bounding ball of puppy fun, and he seems even younger than the 1 1/2 that he is. Miller enjoys everything- taking walks, meeting new people, and especially off-leash time in our exercise yard. The first time he went in our yard, he acted as though it was the greatest day of his life! He ran, bounced, tossed toys around and tumbled through the snow. It's obvious that Miller would love a home with an active family and a nice yard to have to fun in! Miller gets along great with other dogs and loves people of all ages. He would make a wonderful addition to any family that would promise to love and care for him always! 1/20/13 File#22242

The Associated Humane Societies, founded in 1906, is the largest animal sheltering system in New Jersey. We comprise three shelters located in Newark, Forked River, and Tinton Falls . Our Forked River facility also includes Popcorn Park Zoo. Established in 1977, Popcorn Park Zoo is a sanctuary for abandoned, injured, ill, exploited, abused or elderly wildlife, exotic and farm animals, and birds.
The Society is a not for profit, 501 (c) 3 organization, and Popcorn Park is also a federally licensed zoo. The Society prides itself on our devotion to the thousands of animals that we care for annually and the chance for a better life we offer them. Our animal shelter is open to the public Monday through Friday from 12pm to 6pm, and Saturday and Sunday from 12pm to 5pm.
We require a completed adoption application which can be obtained at our facility, or from our website: www.ahscares.org. We also require proof of home ownership if you own, or a copy of a lease stating that pets are allowed with no restrictions if you rent. We require vet records for any pets owned in the last five years as well. Our adoption fees vary based on age, breed, etc. Please call our facility for exact fee 609-693-1900.
We are the primary Animal Control for Barnegat, Waretown, West Creek, Surf City. We take in animals in need from all of the country.
