Darby's Story...
Hi! My name is Darby and I am a year old. I am quite an unusual little lady because of my big brown eyes and the fact that I like to wag my tail like a dog when you call my name! My foster mom calls me "Precious" which also gets the occasional tail wag. I would love to find my forever home and be your brown eyed girl.

In addition to being spayed and up to date on all shots, Darby is microchipped, has been tested for FeLV/FIV, checked for ear mites, wormed and treated with flea meds. Please call HCW to take this sweet girl home or come visit her Fri, Sat and Sun 12-4 at the Muskegon Petco.

Foster: Diane

About Our Rescue Group...
HCW is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping reduce the pet population of West Michigan by offering transportation to C-Snip, a low cost spay/neuter clinic of Kentwood. Please call 231-737-5644 to schedule an appointment.
Donate to Our Rescue Group...
We are honored by donations and need them to survive as a rescue who promotes spay and neuter. We are always in need of monetary donations. Please e-mail or call us. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
Come Meet Our Pets...
Our pets reside in foster homes with loving and friendly families and a host of other cats and sometimes dogs. This allows them to live in a safe and comfortable home until they are adopted to their forever homes. Please come and visit our cats and kittens at Muskegon's Petco on Harvey Street near Old Navy. We are there on Saturdays and Sundays from noon to 4:00p. Call us about specific animals and keep updated via our pet profiles and on facebook!
Our Adoption Process...
All of our felines live in foster homes and are adopted through Petco. All of our animals are vaccinated, spayed and neutered, and microchipped before they are deemed ready to be adopted. Generally, one cat/kitten is $70 and we have a deal for two cats for $100. Older cats are discounted in some scenarios.
We Serve the Following Cities, Towns, and/or Counties...
Heaven Can Wait Animal Haven promotes the spay and neuter of all our animals to reduce the dizzying overpopulation predicament that West Michigan faces each day. Instead of allowing endless litters to be born, we wish to find forever homes for the animals in our care and to continue to help others spay and neuter their pets. Our mission is to reduce the amount of unwanted pets who end up in local shelters or on the streets.

By spaying or neutering your pet you are doing your part. The amount of animals who end up in local shelters is overwhelming. Many of those never make it to a forever home as there are just too many looking for homes. We offer transportation to C-snip (csnip.org) on a weekly basis. They are a low income clinic that has the same goal in mind.Together we can help reduce the pet population of West Michigan.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Darby, a Muskegon Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Muskegon, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Muskegon.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Muskegon already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Muskegon breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Muskegon paves the way for another one to be saved.
