Molly's Story...
The first step in our adoption process is an application, which you can submit online at www.littlebitsrescue.org It does not obligate you in any way, but we do not arrange meetings or make telephone contact until we have one. Do you have room in your heart for a very special, needy little girl? Molly is a beautiful little toy poodle rescued from a breeding situation. Her coat is a very light chocolate, almost a taupe color. She is 5 years old and weighs 6.8 pounds. Molly has been spayed and is up to date on her immunizations. She had a dental cleaning and lost most of her teeth due to the poor hygiene and inferior food she had received all her life. She has a slight heart murmur, although she does not need medication for it. Unfortunately, she also tested positive for heartworms and is currently undergoing treatment. Molly will be available for adoption on February 7, and we hope to have her new home chosen by that time. Molly is a sweet baby but somewhat timid. She had obviously had very little human interaction before coming into rescue. She is only now beginning to do the little excited dance with the other dogs when her foster mom comes home. She will not be placed in a home with children under the age of 12 or with a dog weighing more than 20 pounds. She needs a calm, low key home where she can learn to feel secure and loved. She will need someone with patience and consistency to work with her on her housetraining. Molly’s adoption donation is $150, and she is being fostered in Birmingham, Alabama. We do approve out of state adoptions, but you must be willing to drive to the foster home to “fetch” your new family member. We do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting this sweet baby, the first step is to submit an APPLICATION.

We do not place any dog in a home with "invisible" or underground fencing.

Rescue Group Info...

About Our Rescue Group...
Our mission is to rescue toy breed dogs (purebred and mixed) from local shelters or from owners wishing to surrender dogs. We provide all necessary vet care, including spay/neuter and vaccinations. We then place the dogs in new homes after an extensive screening process.
Come Meet Our Pets...
We do not have a shelter. All our dogs are housed in our personal homes. For this reason, we do not arrange meetings until we have received a completed application.
Our Adoption Process...
The first step in our adoption process is an application. We also do reference checks, a personal phone interview with the applicant, and a home visit. Our adoptions require a legally binding contract. Our fees vary from dog to dog, but the average is $200.
We Serve the Following Cities, Towns, and/or Counties...
We are based in Birmingham, Alabama, and we also have foster homed in Crossville, Alabama, and the metro Atlanta area (Powder Springs). We do approve out of area adoptions if the adopter is willing to drive to the foster home to "fetch" the new baby.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Molly, a Birmingham Poodle (Toy or Tea Cup) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Poodle (Toy or Tea Cup) for sale in Birmingham, or seeking a Poodle (Toy or Tea Cup) dog from a breeder in Birmingham.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Birmingham already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Birmingham breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Poodle (Toy or Tea Cup) breeders who help with Poodle (Toy or Tea Cup) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Birmingham paves the way for another one to be saved.
