Athena von Akin's Story...
Athena von Akin is a beautiful 18 month old German Shepherd on the smaller side. Confident and independent, Athena does not require much attention but rather amuses herself versus demanding attention from other people or dogs. She is an alert girl who takes in all the happenings around her. She was a recent mother and is kenneled with one of the females from her litter (Ariel), both of whom were abandoned at the same time.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Athena von Akin, a Los Angeles German Shepherd Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog for sale in Los Angeles, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog dog from a breeder in Los Angeles.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Los Angeles already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Los Angeles breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Los Angeles paves the way for another one to be saved.
