Marti was found outside of an office building as a 4 week old kitten. The people who found her were worried since her eyes looked funny ... it turns out that she is just a little cross eyed. Wanting to be a unique little girl, she is cross eyed up and down, instead of side to side. Don't feel sorry for Marti though - she sees perfectly. She loves chasing after her toys, especially when you drag a string toy in front of her, jumps up on the couch to snuggle with you, and follows you around looking for more attention.
She is like liquid fur when you pick her up She nuzzles into your neck, rubs her face against yours, gives kitty kisses and lays on you while you're watching TV. All this time, purring so loudly everyone in the room can hear her! She is the sweetest of the sweet ! Her foster mom has always given her kisses on her head, so she's come to expect them. Just in case you forget, she rubs her face against yours while softly meowing.
Won't you bring Marti home to be a part of your family. After all, YOU CAN'T RESIST THAT FACE !

We are a relatively new no-kill rescue group in Wake Forest, that takes in stray and abandoned cats / kittens, and then works to find them their forever homes. All of our animals are tested, vaccinated and have either been spayed or neutered. Although we currently have a wonderful all-volunteer staff, we always need more help (foster homes, fundraising, PR, website work, newsletters, etc). If you are interested in volunteering (even for just a few hours) or donating to help us rescue more cats and kittens, please contact us !!
We list all of our adoption events and our available kitties on our website: www.HobbesHouse.org . Our adoption events are normally held each weekend at the PetSmart at BrierCreek ( Saturday from 11 - 2 and Sunday from 12:30 - 3:30 )

We require that you fill out an application. If you live in an apartment, we then call them to insure they allow pets. If you have owned a pet before, we contact your vet for a reference.
After these two things have been done, we then contact you to discuss your application.
Our adoption fee is $100 for non- microchipped cats and $115 for microchipped cats, which covers our basic medical costs (vaccines, Feline Leukemia / FIV testing and spay/neuter).
