Lil Bitty's Story...
Lil Bitty could be considered by some as  ordinary looking, but she  has a big heart and a very loving spirit which more than makes up for what she may be lacking in looks.  You will need to visit with this adult dog in person to really see what a great companion animal she would be. She is spayed, up to date on her shots, housetrained, and ready for a new home!

All pets 6 months of age or older will be spayed or neutered before adoption. An adoption application must be submitted and approved before an animal can be picked up.  Adoption applications are located at www.poteaupets.org.  Fees for adult dogs range from $90 to $125 depending upon size of animal and vetting fees.  Puppies are $40 with exceptions noted on description  Adult cats are $50 with exceptions noted on description.  Kittens are $25.

About Our Shelter...

We are a 501(c)3 non-profit private organization run by volunteers and the organization depends on the generosity of the public and private sectors for operating budget each year. There is a small amt. of funding by city of Poteau and no funding by county, state nor any other organization. We take in the unwanted, discarded, abandonded, unloved, mistreated, and neglected animals of the area. We do this solely for the betterment of the animals lives in the hope that we can place them in a loving home. Our mission is to relieve the suffering of area companion animals and to educate the public on the importance of and necessity for altering all companion animals.

We are open Tues. thru Sat. Mornings by Appt. (or in the afternoon/evening hrs. on those days) Please e-mail or call for appt. 24 hrs. in advance if possible to ensure that a volunteer can be scheduled to help you in your selection of the perfect new "furry" friend! Our Adoption Process...

By application (go to www.poteaupets.org and click on the Adoption Form link near top of page) dogs range from $90 to $ 100, cats are $50, puppies are $40 , kittens are $25. . Adopter of kittens and puppies too young to be altered before adoption will be asked to sign an agreement to have the adopted animal spayed or neutered on or near a date suggested by the PVHS counselor. Follow-up is done. Because PVHS is 90% volunteer organization, whose volunteers work other 40-hr. week jobs, the adoption process may take 4-5 days to complete.
