Dixie's Story...
Dixie is pretty tabby girl. She is very calm and affectionate cat. She has been at the shelter for years and it is time for her to feel the love and joy of being in a home.

Dixie has the cutest ears with little tuffs of hair on the tips. She is laid back and very content just gazing out the window or snuggling up with other cats while being petted.

Please consider adopting this gorgeous girl. She is spayed, vaccinated, and tested negative for FIV/FeLV.

Meet her at our Freeport location between 11am and 7pm any day of the week. 2 Rider Place. 516-378-4340

For an immediate response, please fill out our application from www.bobbiandthestrays.org and email it to adopt@bobbicares.org as well. Remember - this kitty, as ALL cats should be, is an indoor only cat. Thank you so much!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Dixie, a Freeport Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Freeport, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Freeport.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Freeport already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Freeport breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Freeport paves the way for another one to be saved.
