Lady's Info...
| Breed: | Labrador Retriever Mix | Color: | Black | Age: | Adult |
| Size: | Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg) | Sex: | Female |
I am already spayed, a special needs pet, in need of an experienced adopter, up to date with shots, not good with kids, not good with dogs, and not good with cats.
Lady is a special girl as she lived alone in the woods for quite some time. Eventually we were able to befriend her enough to catch her. She is still very skittish and will need a quiet home and someone who can spend a lot of time with her. Her trust level with humans is next to none. She has never snapped at us, but she does not get along very well with other dogs. Lady is very scared of the house and does not do well in a crate at all. She prefers to be outside so a fenced yard is a requirement to adopt Lady. With the right person who can take the time to gain Lady's trust, I'm sure she will eventually learn to love living inside. Lady's new parents will need to be experienced in handling a dog who has been mistreated and neglected and has trust issues. Once you gain her trust, she is a total love bug and very playful. She is estimated to be between 2 and 4 years old. Lady has been spayed and is up to date on all of her vaccines. She is light heartworm positive (no flora seen). Her heartworms are being treated with the slow kill method (monthly preventative) as she has a very light case. If you can give Lady the love and attention needed, please contact us specialbeagles@yahoo.com.

Rescue Group Info...
A Ray of Hope Animal Rescue and Sanctuary was started to rescue beagles that have been neglected, abused, and abandoned. Our emphasis is on beagles with disabilities, however, we also rescue those without any known physical or medical conditions. We take in beagles from high-kill animal sherters. Before any beagle is placed up for adoption, it is fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and microchipped.
Our long term goal is to purchase property to establish a sanctuary for any beagle needing a place to call home. Once the sanctuary is established, we hope to work with other rescue groups to take in their "unadoptabes" opening up space for them to rescue other beagles that have a greater chance at adoption.

We do offer a $25 dollar discount to members, past and present, of the U.S. Military, firefighters, police officers, and school teachers.
