Cornbread's Story...
Cornbread and his brothers, PintoBean and Grits(all sweet Southern boys) ,were dumped at a kill shelter. They are all such cute, sweet boys that the staff contacted rescue in hopes of saving them. They are almost 3 months and weighing about 15 lbs. As true to the Hound nature, these boys will be loving, loyal, really smart, and with a goofy sense of humor that will keep you laughing. Hounds actually make good house dogs and are great with children, and are fairly easy to house train. Although Hounds are not a real high-energy dog, they do need a place to stretch their legs and / or have regular long walks with their humans. These boys will be neutered before going to their new homes.
If you are interested in more information about this dog, or you would like to apply, you may email lorainecm@comcast.net or paste the following link into your browser. http://www.poochesonthemove.net/one-more-last-chance-rescue.html

It will answer most of your questions and you can also access an application to apply from there

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Cornbread, a Brattleboro Black and Tan Coonhound/Australian Shepherd puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Black and Tan Coonhound/Australian Shepherd for sale in Brattleboro, or seeking a Black and Tan Coonhound/Australian Shepherd puppy from a breeder in Brattleboro.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Brattleboro already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Brattleboro breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Black and Tan Coonhound/Australian Shepherd breeders who help with Black and Tan Coonhound/Australian Shepherd rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Brattleboro paves the way for another one to be saved.
