My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Suzie is an adorable, salt and pepper schnauzer puppy, who was released from a breeder. She will all be ready to go to her new home when she is eight weeks old. Suzie has natural ears and a docked tail, and is full of active energy, and ready to play. If you want a bundle of puppy love, this is your little girl. Schnauzers are smart, perky, feisty, full of personality, and don’t shed. They love to romp and play, and are active and curious. Suzie’s foster Mom will begin the house training process, but she may not be completely housebroken since she is still a young puppy. She is being fostered by Linda and her family in Ashtabula, OH. Living in foster homes, our puppies are socialized, and training has been started for other skills. Adopters must be prepared to continue training and socialization after adoption.

Suzie’s adoption fee is $395, plus a refundable $50 spay/neuter deposit. All puppies adopted from RRR must be spayed/neutered. When your puppy is spayed or neutered by 6 months of age, send us a copy of your vet’s paperwork as documentation, and your deposit will be refunded.

Our vet package includes an exam, current puppy shots based on age, and deworming. We give you a written record from our vet of these and any other procedures performed to provide to your own vet. In season, our rescued dogs are on flea/tick and heartworm preventives.

You will receive a lifetime prepaid microchip registration, and a 60-day limited trial for pet insurance from a third party. In addition, we provide our foster family’s notes on your dog’s routine, including food, schedule, and social skills. An adoption packet will be given to you at your adoption appointment, and includes other suggestions that will help you and your puppy establish your new relationship. We also have a Facebook page for our adopters, and we have a volunteer who can answer questions on training your new pet.

We are not a shelter—our dogs are cared for in foster homes by our volunteers. We do not ship or transport our dogs. You must drive to the foster home to meet your dog. An adoption appointment is scheduled after you complete an online application, and are approved for adoption.

Please visit our website www.ronsrescuedrascals.org to learn more about our adoption procedures and policies, submit an adoption application, meet our volunteers, and learn how you can benefit from the 9+ years of rescue experience of our all-volunteer, non-profit rescue.
