Annabelle's Story...
Update 5/2014: Annabelle is now coming to us a third time :( Now due to human aggression towards towards her owners. Unfortunately, they don't want to work with her. Annabelle will now only be adopted to a reliable owner who WILL NOT return her and will work with her to ensure that she is a happy bunny. Bunny experience necessary, and especially experience with possibly aggressive bunnies. This poor girl has been passed around so much, we fear her aggression is stemming from the fact that she can't trust anyone. If we cannot find anyone suitable for her, she will stay here for the rest of her life. We are looking for sponsorships for this poor girl.

*Annabelle's adoption fee has been reduced to $50 because she is our current Featured Pet! ( Breed: Some sort of English spot type mix Size: 7 pounds. Color: black and white Approximate DOB:Easter two years ago, so we are saying April of 2010 Reason in rescue: This beautiful little girl was bought as a present for children on Easter two years ago. Surprise, surprise, the bunny was in the basement and essentially not paid attention to, so she came to us. Personality: This little girl is so, so sweet. She loves being petted and having her face rubbed and has no issue with being picked up and will shove her face under your chin for kisses and cuddles. She's just a complete darling. She loves attention and will follow you everywhere until you sit down with her, when she will climb into your lap for snuggles. She's just an amazing girl who is also litter trained! Special Needs: Annabelle can get territorial in smaller cages (due to her upbringing) and so we recommend that she live in a puppy pen or free range. She's just gotten grunty and has never bitten. Ideal Home: Any home would be good for this girl as long as she gets lots of attention! Friends: Annabelle is a good candidate to be bonded to a neutered male. Or she can be adopted as a single bunny. Requirements: Must be adopted as an indoor animal, with an as large as possible plastic bottomed cage or puppy pen. Adoption process: An adoption application must be filled out (email for the application), and approved by us. Then we will arrange a meeting time to see the animal of interest. A home visit is required prior to adoption. Suggested adoption donation is $60 (which includes her spay, microchip, and first vet visit) . **Please email if you are interested in adoption. We respond to all emails within 24 hours** Recommended Food: Oxbow or Kaytee timothy pellets, timothy hay, and 2-3 servings of veggies a day, especially fresh greens like romaine, green leaf, dandelion, spring or baby mixes, etc. Bedding: Newspaper, Yesterday's News, Cellsorb, or Carefresh

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Annabelle, a Edinburg English Spot was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a English Spot for sale in Edinburg, or seeking a English Spot from a breeder in Edinburg.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Edinburg already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Edinburg breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even English Spot breeders who help with English Spot rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Edinburg paves the way for another one to be saved.
