Panda's Story...
Breed: Hotot or Netherland Dwarf cross Size: About 3-4 pounds Color: White with black eyeliner and ears and black on his back! Approximate DOB: 5/2012 Reason in rescue: This beautiful group of 3 bunnies (1 female and 2 males) came to us after some wonderful people caught them when they were found running loose as strays in a neighborhood in Erie. Personality: Panda came in with a group of bunnies who had been picked up after running loose in a neighborhood for a while. He is the shyest of the bunch but very sweet and very snuggly. He just needs to learn that humans aren't going to hurt him and he is in a great foster home learning how to be a happy, outgoing, non-scared bunny! Preferably a quiet house for this boy who will be patient with him and give him lots of love, attention and snuggles. If you do, he may just give you a kiss :) Special Needs: None. Ideal Home: Any home would be good for him Friends: Panda is a good candidate to be bonded to a spayed female or he can be adopted out as a single bunny. He is good with polite dogs and cats. Requirements: Must be adopted as an indoor animal, with an as large as possible plastic bottomed cage or puppy pen. Adoption process: An adoption application must be filled out (email for the application), and approved by us. Then we will arrange a meeting time to see the animal of interest. A home visit is required prior to adoption. Suggested adoption donation is $60 (which includes his neuter and first vet visit) . **Please email if you are interested in adoption. We respond to all emails within 24 hours** Recommended Food: Oxbow or Kaytee timothy pellets, about 1/4 cup a day, unlimited timothy hay, and 2-3 servings of veggies a day, especially fresh greens like romaine, green leaf, dandelion, spring or baby mixes, etc. Bedding: Newspaper, Yesterday's News, Cellsorb, or Carefresh

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Panda, a Edinburg Netherland Dwarf was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Netherland Dwarf for sale in Edinburg, or seeking a Netherland Dwarf from a breeder in Edinburg.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Edinburg already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Edinburg breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Netherland Dwarf breeders who help with Netherland Dwarf rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Edinburg paves the way for another one to be saved.
