OHIO CHICO's Story...

WOOSTER OHIO:

Chico is a 1 year old neutered male Anatolian Shepherd Dog Great Pyrenees. He and his brother Bandit were both picked up as strays. His est DOB is 5/09/11.

Chico is a pretty playful pup and loves attention. He needs to learn a few manners and we are working on that.

He is on the smaller size but has some growing to do. He is a very friendly boy with all other dogs male and female.

He loves to ride in the car and is a good boy while in the store. Chico will need at least a 5 ft fence and  he likes to be inside with his human companions.

Chico is housebroken, neutered and current on vaccinations.  He is not a trained livestock guardian dog therefore he is available for adoption as a companion dog.

PLEASE NOTE: We will always do our best to help with transport within 1,000 miles. For our dogs in Texas, transport may also be available to the following states: Colorado, Idaho, Oregon and Washington.

About Our Rescue Group...
Anatolian related dogs, ASD mixed breads, house mates, litter mates and the like. While we love Anatolians and pride ourselves on helping this breed, we are truly dog lovers at We are The National Anatolia Shepherd Rescue Network (NASRN) and due to the current state of the US housing market, we are experiencing a large influx of dogs that are draining our funds. When Anatolian Shepherd (ASD’s) owners are forced out of their homes and into apartments or other living conditions, many times they can not take their ASD’s because the bread is so large.

So we find them abandoned, in high kill shelters and other animal rescues or agencies across the nation. We take allheart and we do not separate or deny other animals based on their breed. If an ASD has litter mates, or a partner from his current living conditions, we make it a priority to get the dogs adopted together or foster them as a pair.

Once we find them we then adopted them into our group as Fosters, or move them to a none-kill shelter while we look for adoptive homes.
We spay and neuter all our rescued dogs; we get them up to date on all needed medical treatments and any more serious needs. We also make sure they are all micro chipped before adoption to make sure if the dog ends up in a shelter the adoptive families can be located. We do all this while we look for permanent & proper housing for this wonderful large breed. It is not uncommon for our volunteers to help relocate dogs to their new fosters homes or permanent homes that are several states away from where we find them in need.

We are asking for your support to allow us to continue to save DOGS. Because we are a national group we can not set up contracted rates or kennels or set a program of discount medical treatment because we save dogs help all over the country. We place on average around 125 dogs a year but the number continues to climb and will keep climbing based on the current economic state of our country.
