Kirk's Story...
Kirk is a beautiful little green cheek conure who is full of spunk and personality! Kirk is not loud and has a beautiful song and chirps that are so cute! We were told that Kirk is approximately 1 yr old, but we are not sure on the actual age. He tends to be a part time plucker when his routine is interrupted or moved but chest feathers grow back quickly. He eats very well, a trio of pellets and ¼ seed, and is starting to try chop. We are working on getting him to eat more types of foods including fresh vegetables and some fruits. Kirk is a “big dog attitude in a little dog body” making him seem aggressive but the right person will find this baby just wants someone to bond with. He is not used to being handled and has no idea how to step up, so he just needs a little work as he is scared of hands. Once you are able to get him out of the cage (he runs from you a little until he gets used to you,), he is very friendly and likes to be cuddled and will groom you as well! Kirk loves to bath in the bathroom sink and is a true water baby!

About Our Rescue Group...
Florida Parrot Rescue is dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of companion parrots. We strive to educate parrot owners on proper handling and care of parrots. Should someone be unable to keep their bird(s) for ANY reason, we want them to know there is a place to turn, and that they are not alone. It is our goal to provide a safe haven for birds that cannot stay with their owners or birds in need, and then to find those birds permanent forever homes with loving and responsible families.

Our Adoption Process...
We require an application which is free of charge, an adoption fee which varies on the bird you wish to adopt. We do NOT adopt our for breeding purposes.

Rescue and rehabilitate abused and neglected birds
Veterinary care and treatment for birds in need
Provide parrot owners with a place to bring their birds in the event that they can no longer keep them.
