Nacho's Story...
NACHO, HOLD THE CHEESE, PLEASE!! Nacho is a beautiful little Parrotlet whose owner decided to relinquish her to us because she was very ill with a severe bacterial infection. After treatment through our wonderful FPR vets, she is now ready for adoption! Lil' Nacho is 6 years old and is currently on a seed/pellet trio mixture. Although she has not yet shown any interest in chop or other fresh and nutritious foods, we will continue to work on that with her. She does like bananas, mango and papaya. Nacho is a wonderful singer and has come a long way from the frightened little fid she was when we received her. There is not an aggressive bone in this bird’s body, but she is a little scared when you try to put your hand in her cage. We are hoping that with patience and time, she will be willing to step up and be a cutie pie for the right adoptive family!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Nacho, a Tampa Parrotlet was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Parrotlet for sale in Tampa, or seeking a Parrotlet from a breeder in Tampa.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Tampa already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Tampa breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Parrotlet breeders who help with Parrotlet rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Tampa paves the way for another one to be saved.
