SayDee's Info...
| Breed: | Staffordshire Bull Terrier Mix | Color: | Black - With White | Age: | Young |
| Size: | Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg) | Sex: | Female | ID#: | DD |
I am already spayed, housetrained, in need of an experienced adopter, up to date with shots, not good with kids, good with dogs, and not good with cats.
Saydee is a playful, sweet, kissing little mess! She's a brilliantly smart dog, and will trick you with those sassy eyes if you're not careful! She appears to be a Staffordshire Terrier, but she only weighs about 40 pounds and has a leaner body than one would expect to see in a purebred Staffie. We estimate that Saydee is about a year old and have put her birthday at 01-01-2012. As a very young mother, she found herself in a high-kill pound with her three little babies. Saydee seems to have been taught bad habits about the proper way to play with humans, but she's doing better. Her favorite game is tug-of-war and she likes to play it with her leash -- though we're working on that. She does have some mouthy behavior, but has never shown any type of aggression. She is learning about the proper way to interact with humans, but her new family should be prepared to continue helping her learn these manners. Because of this mouthiness, we don't recommend her for a home with young children. She gets along great with other dogs, but because she has been taught to play rough, we think it would be best if she not go to a home with cats. Saydee will require a little work, and obedience school should be in her future, but it will be well worth the efforts of the family who chooses to give her a forever home. Saydee is house-trained and crate-trained. She is very tidy in her crate and content in her crate. She rarely barks, but will whine when it's time to go out for a potty break. Saydee is spayed, up-to-date on her vaccinations and is heart worm negative. She is ready to go home today! Email for your adoption application!
Please, you MUST visit the following link BEFORE emailing for further information. If you'd like to find out more information about our adoption procedure or to apply for this dog visit http://www.poochesonthemove.net/dixie-pet-underground.html
Or e-mail adoptions@dixiepetunderground.org to request an adoption application, or visit our website at www.dixiepetunderground.org. Once we receive your complete application, an adoption counselor will call you within 48 hours of receipt of the application. During the adoption interview, the adoption counselor will tell you more about the puppy and our adoption processes, as well as answer any questions you have.
Dogs and puppies are up-to-date on their vaccinations, spayed/neutered, de-wormed, treated for fleas/ticks and heartworm negative before leaving rescue. You will receive complete medical records for your dog or puppy at the time of adoption.
The adoption fee is $450 and covers the cost of all veterinary care and transportation to your area.
Our dogs and puppies are delivered via a USDA-certified van transport and receive an Interstate Health Certificate -- issue by a licensed, accredited veterinarian -- no more than 10 days before the dog or puppy leaves rescue.
All of our dogs and puppies come into rescue from the "death row" of animal shelters in the south, or are owner surrenders or strays who were "pound bound" before coming into rescue. Adopting a dog or puppy from the Dixie Pet Underground Railroad means you are truly part of a partnership to save the life of the dog or puppy that you welcome into your family.
Our dogs and puppies are fostered at our rescue in Tennessee, meaning that it isn't possible to meet the dog or puppy before adoption. Our adoption counselor works with you to do everything possible to ensure that there is a good match between the family and the dog. We have had several hundred dogs adopted using this process and most of the time, it results in happy puppies and happy people.
If for any reason an adoption is not successful, the Dixie Pet Underground Railroad will work with the adopter to find the best possible solution for the dog and the adopting family.
We can provide contact information for adopters in your area who can tell you about their experience partnering with the Underground Railroad to save the life of a dog and make the animal a part of their family. We look forward to hearing from you and working with you to find the right dog for your family!

Rescue Group Info...
Pooches & Purrs Cooperative is a group of rescues and individual rescuers that are working hard to find loving homes for the dogs, cats, kittens and puppies that find their way into our care through no fault of their own. Each individual or group has several wonderful dogs In Tennessee, Alabama or Kentucky looking for homes! All of them are completely vetted and neutered/spayed (if age appropriate) and on heartworm protection. All of them come with complete medical records. Their adoption fee of $450 covers their complete age appropriate vetting and heartworm preventative as well as their transportation to your area.
Our rescues don't have an actual shelter building in the New England area. Due to this it is not always possible to meet them prior to their adoption. At times, a dog may be in foster care in New England and their bio will clearly be marked as such so you will know. These southern dogs & cats are brought up to their new owners weekly! We have a 14 day money back guarantee and the pet can be rehomed appropriately if things don't work out. Each group tries hard to get good matches in your homes so that everyone has a happy life together! To date the cooperative has placed over a two thousand dogs and puppies, cats and kittens in loving New England homes! Each group has many, many, references of happy adopters up in your area that can fill you in on their experience. Just email and they can pass along that information for your convenience. Thanks!
