Vera's Story...
Vera is a darling gray tabby kitten who was raised in a caring foster home with her 5 siblings. Their mother was FIV postive and all of her babies tested negative except Vera. The vet has suggested that she be retested in the spring and may show negative at that time. She is a very friendly girl who loves to play but then will come and snuggle in your lap for some cuddle time. She also loves to play with dogs and gets along well with them. Vera will stay in foster care until she is adopted so if you'd like to meet her call the Humane society at (309) 944-4868 and arrangements will be made. Can you open your heart and home to this special little kitty. Vera's DOB is 7-15-12. POSTED JANUARY 26, 2013.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Vera, a Geneseo Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Geneseo, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Geneseo.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Geneseo already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Geneseo breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Geneseo paves the way for another one to be saved.
