Corky's Story...
The best laid plans of mice and men often go awry.’ Ditto the plans of cats. I thought I had it made when I landed in the Geneseo Shelter via the Colona Pound back in 2010. But my first adoption fizzled, back to the shelter. Since then I have been waiting for another chance. I love attention! If the volunteers walk by me without a pet I reach out and paw them gently to remind them. POSTED JANUARY 26, 2013. DOB 2-21-10. I am prone to groom too much. Sometimes it just feels like I itch or my skin feels funny. The volunteers make sure I get a depo shot from the vet when this happens and it makes me feel all better. Beings I might need a depo shot every now and then there is no adoption fee for me. Just a promise to love me my whole life. Est DOB 4-21-09. UPDATED FEBRUARY 26, 2013.
Corky no longer over-grooms. She has a full thick shiny soft coat. But she has put on some weight. Our vet suggests she needs to loose some weight so she is in foster care for that. She would love to continue her weight-loss program in a home of her own. Give us a call at 944-4868 to make arrangements to meet this sweet girl. UPDATED 12-25-13.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Corky, a Geneseo Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Geneseo, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Geneseo.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Geneseo already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Geneseo breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Geneseo paves the way for another one to be saved.
