Amelia's Story...
My name is Amelia and I have a sad 'tail' to tell. My owner died and I was brought here and am staying in a cage now, instead of my old, nice, warm home. I'm feeling sad and blue (ok, that's my color....I do still have my sense of humor....give me an A for effort....). I've been declawed, so I only want to go to an inside-only home with at least one lap to sit on. I have a lovely luxuriously long blue coat and big gold eyes. I'm described as a large girl, not fat, mind you, but muscular! I've already been spayed, so I'm ready to get out of here, as they say! Please come and see me and take me home and love me! I'll love you right back, I promise! I'm in cage #103.

We do an evaluation with you and the animal to be sure that it is the best animal for you. We require that all children in the household under 9 years old be evaluated with the animal and if you are adopting a dog and you currently own a dog, your dog needs to be evaluated with the new dog to be sure they get along.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Amelia, a El Cajon Domestic Longhair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Longhair for sale in El Cajon, or seeking a Domestic Longhair cat from a breeder in El Cajon.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in El Cajon already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a El Cajon breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Longhair breeders who help with Domestic Longhair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in El Cajon paves the way for another one to be saved.
