Reese's Story...
Hi there! I'm Reese, and I am a very special 13-year-old male neutered Labrador mix who has had a rough life. I ended up at a shelter after losing my way, and no one came looking for me. Young at Heart rescued me, and now I need a very special home that I can retire to where I will receive the love and affection that my past life obviously lacked. After being treated for a virus over the last few weeks at the vet's office, I just had a much-needed dental and I am now ready for placement. My blood work now looks good, but I'm an old soul, and I need someone with a big heart to open their home to me. I have arthritis and degenerative weakness of my hindquarters, which is already showing some improvement with Rimadyl, but will continue to progress with my advanced age. I am very sweet, but you can tell I've never been showered with love and affection. I am very unsure of love, which breaks everyone's hearts here at the rescue. I just want a soft bed, a quiet home, and a gentle touch to let me know I'm ok. I am ok with other calm dogs and, so far, I do not react to cats. I am housebroken as well. Are you the kind soul that can provide me with the love I deserves?

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Reese, a Palatine Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Palatine, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Palatine.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Palatine already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Palatine breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Palatine paves the way for another one to be saved.
