Josiah's Story...
My name is Josiah and I was brought to the shelter because my owner could no longer take care of me. I am a very sweet boy the likes to explore. I get along well with other cats and my onwer said I had been indoor and outdoor so I would do well in any setting. I came in with Kalani but I don't seem to be too attached. So if you are looking for two cats or just one I would be great for you. I was born January 2010.

Tested negative for Feline leukemia. Vaccinations are up to date through adoption date. Adoption fee is $30 cash or check or $35 with PayPal with approval by staff, for kittens under six months. Adoption fees are waived for adult cats but we ask for donations to help continue this life saving program. 24PetWatch Microchip permanent ID chips are placed in all adopted cats and kittens. This pet comes with an offer of 30 days of ShelterCare pet insurance for only $1.00, and comes with a coupon for $5.00 off a bag of Hill's Science Diet pet food. To be spayed or neutered upon adoption before going home. Kittens must be 2 and one-half pounds or more and 8 weeks old. All cats/ kittens leave the shelter with a collar and tag!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Josiah, a Spruce Pine Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Spruce Pine, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Spruce Pine.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Spruce Pine already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Spruce Pine breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Spruce Pine paves the way for another one to be saved.
