Other Pets at Shelter...
|Breed:||Calico||Color:||Calico Or Dilute Calico||Age:||Adult|
I was brought to a NYC shelter right before Hurricane Sandy. After the storm, the shelter was so crowded they were going to euthanize me, but a shelter up here brought me to Albany and asked AnimaLovers to help find me a home. I’m very outgoing and friendly and come when I’m called - and I love to be petted and give nose kisses. My favorite spot is on the cat tree next to the sliding door, so I’m close to everyone and high enough to keep an eye on what’s happening. I don’t like loud noises or yelling, which is not surprising, considering my past… When someone yells, I get scared and agitated and sometimes swat (but I don’t use my claws, just my paws). Although I don’t like a lot of noise around me, I’m very high energy, and love to run and chase my toys! When I get really wound up, I’ll jump on my foster mom’s shoulders to get her to play, which is why I wouldn’t be a good choice for a family with little kids. I’m OK with the other cats in the household, and am even learning to play with them. I’d also be great as an only cat! Would you like to meet me?? Just call AnimaLovers at 448-5468, and press 1 for the adoption line!
Rescue Group Info...
AnimaLovers was founded in 1995 by a small group of friends who wanted to provide needy cats and dogs in the Capital District of New York with a better way to find their way to safety and new lives. As of 2011, AnimaLovers is serving cats, only. AnimaLovers's mission is to:
* To provide housing, veterinary care, and adoption for unwanted, abandoned, injured, or stray cats;
* To educate adopters, as well as the general public, about the health and training needs of our companion animals;
* To promote spaying and neutering as an efficient and humane means of animal population control; and
* To advocate for legislation that will prevent cruelty to animals.
In addition, AnimaLovers has expanded beyond the boundaries of cat and dog rescue and adoption to meet the needs of other animals as well by creating programs to help families keep their companion animals healthy by providing low cost spay/neuter services and emergency veterinary care.
