Rescue Group Info...

About Our Rescue Group...
We are a group of volunteers who rescue, rehabilitate and find loving homes for more than 100 poodles and poodle mixes each year. Serving Northern California and Southern Oregon, we rescue and adopt standard, miniature and toy poodles, as well as poodle mixes. We respond to county shelters, humane societies and individuals via our website and phone hotline. Each poodle is microchipped, spayed or neutered, vaccinated and groomed before adoption. In addition, we provide extensive medical care, fostering, boarding and training if needed before placement. We have a return policy in the event that a poodle adoption doesn't work out.

We are always grateful for your donations and 97 per cent of all donations are dedicated to our poodles. As we are an all volunteer organization we incur only 3 percent administrative cost. The generous gift of time by our volunteers, support and services by pet care businesses, and your tax-deductible donations make this work possible.

NorCal Poodle Rescue, Inc. is a tax-exempt organization under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
Our taxpayer ID number (EIN) is 94-3192264.

Come Meet Our Pets...
We are having poodle adoption events the first Sunday of each month from 12 noon to 2 pm
at the Pet Food Express at 785 Oak Grove in Concord next to Trader Joe's. We will bring our
available poodles and poodle mixes for you to meet. We look forward to seeing you!

You can also contact us to arrange a meet and greet with one of our dogs or several.

Our Adoption Process...
We are dedicated to rescuing Poodles and enriching the lives of those who adopt them. Our adoption procedure is designed to find a good match between the Poodle and adopter. If a person see's a Poodle on line or meets one at an adoption fair, and is interested in getting more information, they are required to complete adoption application at: http://www.norcalpoodlerescue.net/adoptioninterestform.html One of our volunteers will get in touch with the person as soon as possible.

Adoption Fee: NorCal Poodle Rescue often incurs substantial costs to provide our rescue and adoption services including boarding, fostering, spaying and neutering, vaccinations, treatments, training, etc. To partially cover these costs we have the following fees for adoption:

Standard $300-500; Miniature $200-400; Toy $200-400

Return Policy: We provide a two-week trial adoption period during which everyone can assess if the adoption works for the Poodle and the new family. If the family or person decides not to keep the Poodle within this two-week period, the adoption fee will be refunded. After the two week period the Poodle may be returned at any time, but the adoption fee will not be refunded. If at any time or for any reason the family or the person cannot care for the Poodle, please call us and we will take the Poodle back.

Adoption Interest Form: http://www.norcalpoodlerescue.net/adoptioninterestform.html If you wan to adopt, but you don't see a Poodle that matches your needs, you can file an adoption interest form. This is especially true if you want a Standard Poodle. We have a waiting list for Standard Poodles. We always contact people on our waiting list before posting a Standard Poodle on our website.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Nicholas, a Walnut Creek Lhasa Apso dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Lhasa Apso for sale in Walnut Creek, or seeking a Lhasa Apso dog from a breeder in Walnut Creek.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Walnut Creek already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Walnut Creek breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Lhasa Apso breeders who help with Lhasa Apso rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Walnut Creek paves the way for another one to be saved.
