Facts about Pluto

  • Breed: Basenji/American Pit Bull Terrier Mix
  • Color: Black
  • Age: Adult
  • Size: Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
  • Sex: Male
Pluto is a 2-year-old Pit/Basenji mix (black/white chest) who was rescued after being abandoned in a neighborhood. He weighs 40 lbs. and has been neutered and all vaccinations are current. He uses the doggy door without incident. He is a bundle of energy and loves to run and play. He gets along great with all the dogs in our household but chases the cats. He does have some issues with strange dogs (especially bigger dogs) when we take him to a place where he has to interact in close quarters, for ex. Petsmart. He will do well in a household as an only dog or with another like-natured dog. He is sweet and goofy and really wants to be part of a family. He will need to be in a household without cats. He will be a great addition to the right home. He loves people and running and is very joyful.
Pluto has completed a 4 week training course and has learned to sit, stay, down and come when called. He understands and performs basic obedience (6' leash) and advanced obedience (20' leash). He progressed nicely in his course and is a very affectionate dog. He requires someone who will be willing to guide him and be a strong leader for him. He will do what you ask of him with the right amount of love and understanding. He has a fantastic personality and is very energetic.
Please contact us if you are interested in meeting Pluto. He will make a great running partner and buddy to hang out with at home.

About Dogs D'Rule, LLC

About Our Rescue Group...

Our primary business is professional dog training and behavior modification. We take in only a few dogs at a time into our rescue division and all of the dogs receive a thorough behavior evaluation. If we observe any behaviors of concern, we put them through a 3-4 week training program and all of the dogs will receive basic obedience on a 6' leash before being placed in a home. Our belief is that if we can help prepare the dogs for their forever home they will have a better chance of staying in that home for the rest of their lives.

Come Meet Our Pets...

The best way to meet our adoptable dogs is to schedule an appointment. We are flexible in our days and times so be sure to contact us via email about your interest. We try very hard to answer emails within 24 hours, so please be patient with us.

Our Adoption Process...

We do have an adoption contract and application that must be filled out. If you see a dog you are interested in, once you have contacted us via email, we will send you an application to fill out. We will review the application before contacting you directly for further interviewing. Our adoption fees range from $100 - $250 depending on the veterinarian care that has been invested in the animal. Along with the application, we will ask for references to help us make the best decision possible. Our number one concern is the dog and our decisions are always based on what we feel is best for him or her.
Please allow up to 24 hours for a response to any inquiry.
