My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Licorice is a 1 year old lab mix. Licorice is a young, energetic dog with a friendly attitude towards people. As soon as he was evaluated outside of the shelter, it was clear that he was well socialized with people. Because he showed no signs of aggression or insecurity with the trainers, we were able to begin his obedience training very quickly with superb results. Licorice picked up several commands with great ease. He now walks properly on the leash and we are exposing him to different environments indoors and outdoors. Licorice is also social with dogs. He has several canine friends that he plays with. While Licorice exhibits the usual challenges of a young dog (easily distracted by noises, wants to jump up), he is working on focusing and has just learned how to walk on a leash, sit and heel. He is currently underweight and suffering from some minor hair loss, but our hope is that with the right kind of food he will grow into his long legs and wedge head. Licorice comes with a LIFETIME of free training from K9s Only--anytime his new owner needs a brush-up or tips, they can make an appointment and see the trainers there for free. Whoever takes this fella home will need to be consistent with his training, as he has had a lot of transitions of late and consistency and predictability is going to be key for him.
