Britta's Info...

Breed: Collie/Shepherd (Unknown Type) Mix Color: Tan/Yellow/Fawn - With White Age: Young
Size: Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg) Sex: Female
Britta's Story...
Britta was surrendered by her owner to a high kill shelter.
The reason for her surrender is not known, but it could not be for her temperament! She is a happy, friendly, playful, affectionate girl!

Britta was rescued on the very day that she was to be put down. Many people came together to save her, even raising money for boarding while a foster made room for her. Now she is with her foster and is working on learning to obey basic commands and to walk politely on a leash.

Britta is about a year and a half old. She loves to play with toys. She loves tugging games and playing ball. She is highly trainable because of her intelligence and her desire to please people.

Britta is 43 pounds and is unlikely to get any bigger. If you are looking for a fantastic family dog that can keep up with an active lifestyle, you need to consider Britta!

About Our Rescue Group...
Saving The Animals Together (S.T.A.T.) is a group of animal lovers dedicated to networking and rescuing dogs and cats from our local high kill shelter, as well as animals that are in danger of being sent to a high kill facility. All of our dogs and cats are rescued in Tennessee. We invite you to help us save the lives of these pets on death row.
Come Meet Our Pets...
We are a foster based rescue and as such, we have no public facilities. Our fosters are all in Tennessee, therefore meeting your pet before adoption is not possible. However, we will provide accurate information about each animal. Because they are fostered in homes, we are able to assess their temperament. The fosters work on behavior, house training, socialization and provide the best individualized care.
Our Adoption Process...
Our adoption fee of $350 includes vetting, including spay/neuter, all age appropriate vaccinations, deworming, heartworm/lyme/ehrlichiosis test for all dogs (and treatment for any positive results),a microchip, and transport costs. (Adopter is responsible to register the chip and pay any registration fees). All of our adoptable pets are current on heartworm preventative and flea/tick preventative. You will find our preliminary application on our website http://www.savingtheanimalstogether.org/#!adoptable-dogs-and-cats/c1yi2 Upon receiving your application a volunteer will contact you for a telephone interview and then our local volunteer will set up a home visit.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Britta, a Carlisle Collie/Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Collie/Shepherd (Unknown Type) for sale in Carlisle, or seeking a Collie/Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Carlisle.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Carlisle already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Carlisle breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Collie/Shepherd (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Collie/Shepherd (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Carlisle paves the way for another one to be saved.
