Candy Cane's Story...
Hi! My name is Candy Cane (Candy for short). My story starts when I was left in a neighborhood the week before Christmas 2012. Everyone tried to catch me for days, but I waited to choose my foster mom. Once in her home, she saw that I had embedded nails in my dew claws. They were really sore and swollen, but the folks with P.A.W.S helped me out. I am very attached to my people. I live with other foster siblings, but really prefer my people. I only weigh 20 lbs and I love to hug, cuddle, and just be next to you.
I am excited over people food and can be grabby but my foster mom is helping me with my manners. I wason my own before, so I am trying to learn to wait my turn with my foster siblings when we get treats. I promise continued love if you are willing to help me learn. I am spayed, crate and doggie door trained, dog neutral, and about 8 months to 1 year old. Let's become a family!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Candy Cane, a Mesa Shiba Inu/Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shiba Inu/Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) for sale in Mesa, or seeking a Shiba Inu/Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) dog from a breeder in Mesa.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Mesa already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Mesa breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shiba Inu/Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) breeders who help with Shiba Inu/Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Mesa paves the way for another one to be saved.
