Rue is a sweet and cuddly kitten who loves life. She was rescued under a car on East 12th Street in Oakland. She now spends her time playing with her foster pals and trying to catch her favorite toys. She loves attention and will purr happily for belly rubs. Rue gets along with adult cats and should be fine with kids 6 and up. She is excellent! We estimate she was born October 26, 2012. She needs another kitty in her home and might be fine with a mellow dog. Bio# AP010
Rescue Group Info...
ICRA is an all volunteer non-profit organization dedicated to reducing the suffering of the abandoned cat population of Alameda and Oakland, and to educate people to their plight. We provide foster homes for our rescues until we can place them into loving homes through our adoption program. On a limited basis, we humanely trap feral cats in order to spay/neuter them before releasing them back to their colonies. Our goal is to expand our program for maintaining cat colonies in our communities. To make this expansion possible, we need more volunteers.
Adoptions are hosted at PETCO, 2310 S. Shore Center, in Alameda's South Shore Center, every Saturday from —
11 am to 4:00 pm
No cats show on major holiday weekends.
Enter the store, head to the right past the registers and straight ahead to the far wall of the store. There is a door there where you will find our cats.

Potential adopters pick out a cat or kitten and fill out an application.
There will be a short interview with one of our volunteers. Adoptions do not happen the same day. We will arrange a time to visit your home and the foster parents and a volunteer will meet there. Our adoption fee structure is:
- Cats and kittens (six months to 8 years): $100
- Cats (over 8 years): $75
- Two cats: Full amount for the higher amount cat, half amount for the lower amount cat
For example: a kitten and an adult would be: $100 + $50 = $150
Prior to Adoption all cats and kittens are:
- Spayed or neutered
- FeLV and FIV tested
- FVRCP vaccinated
- De-wormed, and
- Treated for fleas with Advantage or Frontline
Alameda, Oakland, and surrounding communities.
